About the Book

Laced with humorous observations, honesty, and tender recollections, Serendipity tells the story of Anne’s encounters with places of power that developed into pilgrimage.

As Anne reconnects with herself through each pilgrimage she also develops a deeper understanding and appreciation of her interconnectedness with the seen and unseen worlds around her.

The reader journeys with Anne as she meets her idol outside a television studio as a teenager, joins her on visits to England and Italy, and follows her back to the tiny streets of her birthplace of South Philadelphia and her Italian-American family. Anne extends her hand back through time to meet her great-grandmother while walking through the present with her daughters and husband as she shifts from living scared to journeying with the sacred.

Throughout her story, Anne encourages the readers to remember their own pilgrimages to places that transformed their lives.

What They’re Saying

Stories give form, color and shape to experience. They are the heart’s way of weaving, one thread at a time, a coherent narrative – a life meaning. In this thoroughly readable collection of personal pilgrimage stories, Anne Greco weaves together the threads of her lifetime conversation with the divine through the souvenirs she’s collected along the way. In her beautiful stories, a shell rediscovered at the bottom of a handbag, a photo taken with a rock star, a heart-shaped stone, trace the thread of memory – sacred and profane – around the world, back to the heart.

Reading these pilgrimage stories from my cozy springtime bed was a tonic for my soul. Ms. Greco has got a knack for telling her own tales of pilgrimage in such a way that it will help you recognize your own. If you’ve ever gotten down on your knees and asked for help, this book is a catalog of prayers, like yours, being answered. The miraculous stories are poignantly (and often irreverently) told and leave me fully inspired and excited to read whatever Ms. Greco writes next. For anyone who has ever had spirit call them to the most unexpected places this book fairly shouts, “Go, Go!” You will be glad you did.
