I, too, live with someone who hates January (actually hates winter, period.) For years, his gloom would bring me down too, as he steadily counted the days until springtime. Many years ago, I decided that I didn't want to miss a single day, much less a SEASON, so I now choose to relish the slow passage of time, secure in the knowledge that the world continues to turn on its axis and every season will have a chance. What I am enjoying about this winter is the chance to get outdoors when we get a mild day, and I love the the part of my long commute when the bare trees reveal the 2 or 3 Red Tailed Hawks that make their home along the median strip of Rt. 55. I only catch fleeting glimpses of them during the rest of the year.
